Like the the use of colours, line imagery and custom icons on the Big Noise site – forceful but somehow calming at same time.
I love how they didn't just copy another sites layout but created something intriguing and memorable.

Just curious: What makes them great other than their attractiveness?
Are traffic, leads and revenue important in judging the success of a design?
Should designers be responsible for more than making a site look good?

These are very good questions. The problem in design field we designer pay too much attention in HOW IT LOOKS. Sometimes It is hard to navigate or get any where, not user-friendly and searchable. A great part of design is about User Experience and not just a beautiful picture
