Line25 Sites of the Week for August 21st 2009
Line25 Sites of the Week is a weekly roundup of the most outstanding website designs. In this week’s collection, we have designs from Remix, SixCentral, Envato, Jared Digital and Paul Carbo.
Remix Creative
The Remix Creative website design makes the most of a horizontal stripe layout, with plenty of white space making it a fresh design, easy on the eye.
Six Central
The SixCentral website includes a mix of colour, texture and detailed icons to make up an interesting site design.
Envato
The recently refreshed Envato homepage now features some excellent transparency effects, along with super attention to detail.
Jared Digital
The Jared Digital website design combines subtle design touches on a minimal interface, with great injections of comedic text and imagery.
Paul Carbo
Paul Carbo’s website is a fantastic example of a fresh and clean interface, with touches of visual interest and key focus areas.

How many more websites do we need to see with the same laptop sitting on the screen giving the same exact effect???
And how many do we need to see showing an iPhone???
So if I make a website showing a MacBook and and three iPhones sitting on top of it, does that make me a really cool designer????? :)
How about we show something creative for a change? There are so many original websites out there we’d rather see…
To be honest I couldn’y agree more with Ade. The reviewed webdesigns above all have a similar grid.
Sure, it communicates the message but what about real creativity instead of changing the background and some fonts?
Hope the next few weeks will have variety in design.
Thanks anyway, Chris, for your hard work and commitment, :)
Cheers,
Michiel
really creative august. thanks
I’m pretty fed up with the computers showing “recent work” too. The stickers are also something everyone has, and everyone can do. I’m really interested in how web design will evolve from now on. In fashion business old stuff always comes back but in web design now we see both retro and futuristic design. What’s next?
Very true about the Macbooks and iPhones etc previewing ‘folio work, they all look really good but are seen all over the place now… I bet half the people who use them on their own websites don’t even own them ;)
I saw the Envato website a couple of weeks back and was really impressed with the redesign, it looks awesome!
Hey Chris! Nice list Jared Digital’s header graphic is cracking me up :)
I like when you hover over the computer on the first one it says “flash slideshow”.. haha..
You should feature my new design, BeantownDesign.com
In my opinion, Envato is just a rip off of the Fluid Theme by Meta Lab Design (as much as I don’t like them or their style) as well as countless other sites using the transparent containers on an interesting background.

SixCentral is the most original in this set in my opinion.
I’m loving the new Envato WebSite. It is Fantastic.
Thanks Chris!
I love the remix creative…really clean but still very interesting…cool! thanx for the inspiration!
You have great taste in sites! Yes, there’s a similar grid theme, but they are SO effective because they focus the viewer while still looking great. I love it. I’m definitely subscribing to your blog.
New Envato is awesome. Refreshing design :)
We’ve created such project: http://www.coolbrushdesign.com which is a website of a webdesign studio. We would love to ask ofr professional opinion about the site – all the “WOW”s, “Awsome” and “piece of ..” comments a great. special thanks would be to constructive critics. This is v1 of the project and we are working on 2nd – so we definitely need some side optinion to improve our work. Thanks in advance
