Showcase of Web Designs Based on a Desk Top View

The idea of replicating a desk top view has been around for years but it’s much less common in the aftermath of the skeuomorphism revolt. Still, there’s a hand full of designs that really pull off this style, either through the use of photography or complete layouts made to mimic a desk or table top. Are there any great examples you know of that I’ve missed?

    Great post!
    The Squarespace portfolio is amazing.

  2. Jennifer says:

These desktop views are really fun. They offer a more simplistic design for a homepage. What I’ve discovered however, is that some sites that really cut down on what they offer on the homepage don’t offer much more on the other pages and leave me without a real sense of what the company does and who they are. Finding the balance of simplicity and providing enough information is important.

  6. With the advent of responsive web design, it is possible to craft sites to provide pleasant surfing experience like readability, easy navigation with a minimum of re-sizing, panning, and scrolling across various devices. But there is still demand of providing a desktop view to the web designs as it has classy and eye-catchy look.
