Today we will be reviewing Codester, a marketplace for premium PHP scripts, WordPress themes, templates, plugins, app source code and more. As web designers, we could use all the help we can get in the coding department, and that is why buying pre-made scripts, plugins and other coding goodies can come in handy. Codester allows you to do just that.

Using Codester to Buy Scripts, Design Goodies & More

The marketplace is neatly organized, with sections including Scripts & Code, which is further broken down into PHP, Javascript, Ruby, Python, Java, C & C++, C# and VB.Net. Other sections include Mobile Apps, sub-categorized for IOS, Android, Unity, Corona and Titanium.  There is also a plug-ins section, with sub-categories such as WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Magento, Prestashop, OsCommerce, X-Cart and Opencart. And finally, if you wanted to get some designer goodies, you can get those on Codester as well in their Graphics section, with sub-sections such as User Interfaces, Game Assets, Icons, Logos and Product Mockups. Some sub-categories do not have many listings as Codester is a newer marketplace, but don’t get fooled by this. Those categories that do have things seem to have high quality products, and Codester is definitely a great alternative to some of the bigger and older marketplaces. You can find some excellent design and developer goodies on Codester – things that aren’t available anywhere else. For this reason, it’s definitely worth it for you to check out the marketplace to find design and development goodies that will help you with your work.

Using Codester to Sell Your Work

Since Codester is a marketplace that contains design and development goodies created by many different people, you can sell your own products on Codester. For example, if you’ve created a UI or logo pack, or an HTML / WordPress theme, a WordPress plugin or even a mobile app, you can put it up for sale on Codester and benefit from all the visitors and exposure that Codester has. You can check out their seller page for more information on how to start selling your work on Codester. Some of the benefits of putting your work for sale on Codester:

  • Very high commission rate of 70% for all sales generated through Codester
  • There isn’t any minimum number of sales required
  • You do not have to sign any exclusive agreements with Codester and can sell your work on your own website or other marketplaces.

become-a-seller

It should be noted that because the competition on Codester is a lot less than that of some more saturated marketplaces, as a seller you have a much better chance of exposing your products to the right audience and of getting sales. Contrast this with selling on a marketplace that has thousands of items in each sub-category, where you have almost no chance of being found by potential buyers.

To sum up, Codester is an excellent choice for those web designers and developers who are looking for design / coding goodies, as well as for those who are looking to sell their work.

    • It’s similar to Envato in that it is a design marketplace, but it is a different marketplace and as such it has resources that Envato does not.
