People always ask what font I use to create my annotated code examples in my web design tutorials here on Line25, so I figured a roundup of the best hand drawn fonts would prove quite handy. This post rounds up a range of free fonts based on various handwriting styles. If you’re in need of a font to add a human touch to your design in the form of a note or a personal message, you can be sure you’ll find the perfect font in this collection.

Not all of these are free. The ones by Kimberly Geswein (A Year without Rain, Talking to the Moon, The Great Escape) aren't free. But a commercial licence isn't expensive. They are only $5.

Faraco Hand is my favourite! Such an awesome font! Wish I could use it allot more but don't wanna be accused of copying line 25 and the spoonmeister himself :p

Has anyone ever used the iFontMaker for iPad? I think it's about seven bucks, and totally worth it. I exported my handwriting as an .otf and thought it was just the greatest thing until one of my coworkers put it side-by-side with Comic Sans…it was frighteningly similar. I'll be training myself to write more like Helvetica in the future.
Awesome list Chris, I had a similar post with some of the same fonts :)
thanks
Great sharing Chris. Cool. :)
Great collection! These would be perfect for subheadings on websites. Thanks for the share!
What's it take to become a subilme expounder of prose like yourself?
